Vitamin K is an essential component for blood coagulation and bone metabolism and is also expected to have a preventive effect against arteriosclerosis. There are two types of naturally occurring Vitamin K: Vitamin K1 (Phylloquinone) and Vitamin K2 (Menaquinones), with Menaquinone-4 and Menaquinone-7 being considered particularly important nutrients. However, Menaquinones are hydrophobic substances and are difficult to absorb in the body. In this study, with the aim of bioavailability improvement, Menaquinone-7 inclusion complexes with native Cyclodextrins (CDs) were prepared and evaluated the solubility of Menaquinone-7 in artificial intestinal fluid. As a result, the highest solubility of Menaquinone-7 was observed with γ-CD complex. |
